Cactus Backwards, born November 15th 1982, is a Native American Cherokee artist and writer. Born and raised in California, he has lived in Oregon, Minnesota, and Oklahoma.
Cactus is a political activist and has been arrested multiple times while fighting for the rights of Indigenious and Black people.
Cactus is a US Navy veteran. He was awarded seven medals for his four year service on a nuclear submarine during war. While stationed in Guam, Pacific Ocean, he drove the submarine between Hawaii, Australia and Antarctica.
Cactus is a self taught artist, he paints in watercolor, acrylic and oil.
He lives in Berkeley, CA with his basset hound Zelda.
